Emergency sub activity

On Monday morning one of my kids woke up sick, and I needed to stay home.  I hate missing school (since it's more work), and needed to come up with a quick activity for my LA class.

In the past, when it's a planned absence, I create a summary worksheet with blanks that the students fill out to show that they read and understood the text.

I ended up creating a student version where THEY made the handout and left the blanks.  It was interesting to check their work by trying to put my own answers in the blanks--I got to be the student.
